SPR Cymru Duties of Statutory Legislation imposed on Investigations.

The main framework for Health and Safety legislation on an investigation is:

HEALTH AND SAFETY AT WORK ACT 1974 (HASAWA)

Section 7 of (HASAWA). Investigators of SPR Cymru have a duty to take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of other people who may be affected by their activities on an investigation.  They also have a duty to co-operate with the owners of the properties to enable the compliance with a Health and Safety duty.
This duty is imposed on all SPR Cymru investigators at all levels.  The more senior the investigators the more onerous will this duty prove to be.

Section 8 of (HASAWA), no-one may intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety or welfare in pursuance of any of the relevant statutory provision.

The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (MHSW)

SPR Cymru Investigators Duties (Regulation 14)

The duty under this regulation for all investigators to use any equipment etc properly, in accordance with any training and instructions given, is also covered by S.7 of the HSW Act.
The regulation imposes a new requirement for members of SPR Cymru to bring to the competent person(s) attention:
  • Any situation that the investigator considers to be a serious and imminent danger, and
  • Any other perceived shortcoming in SPR Cymru's Health and Safety arrangements.
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations

If you plan to stop over locally beforehand or afterwards you must make your own arrangements to do so.
You are also responsible for your own travel arrangements.

SPRC will not be held responsible for any costs, fines or expenses you may incur whilst traveling to, participating in or travelling from any our events.
Minimum age of attendees is 18 years of age.

During our events we work in a safely controlled environment with total respect for spirit.

All forms of spiritual contact has very real risks and dangers involved. Each and every event will begin with protection and grounding for every participant.  We do not permit participation or interaction with any dark arts or encourage negative energies to make contact with us.

We request appropriate behaviour towards everyone in attendance by showing respect for others and also to use consideration towards the venue and those who may be living close by. You must take care not to damage anything in the venue and remember events usually end either very late at night or early morning so please keep noise leveld to a minimum at all times.   If you commit any criminal offence or damage to any property within or part of the venue or surrounding area, you will be be held responsible for your own actions and accordingly so must accept any personal or legal costs incurred for these actions.

You will not be permitted entry if you are, or are suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs of any kind and you must not bring any such substances into the event.

You must also be of sound mental and physical health and you must inform SPRC accordingly before any event of any physical or mental health problems or any medication or treatment you may require during the event.

Smoking is not permitted inside any venue.  Safe smoking areas will be designated at the beginning of each investigation .

Consumption of alcoholic beverages is not permitted at any time during the event.

You must agree to accept responsibility for your own property and safety.  SPRC will not accept any liability for personal losses or injuries that may result as a direct act of your own negligence.

You must also agree to take responsibility for any equipment belonging to SPRC thatyou may be entrusted with during the event, and to return it in it`s original condition afterwards. You may use your own equipment during events but must take full responsibility for it yourself.

SPRC Investigators are sensitive to members of the public attending all events. We realise that many may not be spiritually or psychically experienced and may be frightened or offended by witnessing spiritualism at work. Although some of us are also mediums we use care and discretion when working during an event.

Please do not ask any of our team for personal spiritual readings during the event as we will be unable to comply with these requests whilst on investigation.  However, in some circumstances it has been known for one of our spirit guides to bring forward a loved one or provide a message or evidence for a group member. If this should happen you have the right to accept or decline communication.  In addition, prior to all activities during an event we make it clear that if you are not happy to participate you do not have to do so, or if you do take part but become uncomfortable or uneasy in any way you do not have to continue.

For your safety and comfort please remember to wear sensible comfortable shoes and warm clothing (preferably black or dark colours, and if possible without any reflective or fluorescent features because these can cause false phenomena in low/no lighting areas).  Even during the summer months locations can become very cold at night. In some venues there may be outdoor activities so please ensure you have appropriate outerwear for the season or weather. A good torch is highly essential, as are plenty of spare batteries because haunted locations drain batteries extremely quickly! You may bring a camera with you but some locations do not permit photography and this must be obeyed at all times. If you are allowed to take photographs please remember to take care around other peoples eyes and to warn others you are about to take a photograph.   If anyone prefers not to be photographed please respect their wishes.

Light refreshments will be provided throughout the night at each location, unless otherwise stated.

SPRC cannot guarantee any spiritual phenomena will actually occur during the event.  However we do not fake phenomena or cheat during activities.  Anyone found to be cheating or trying to fake phenomena of any kind will be asked to leave without refund of any fees paid.

We remind you that you must agree to all SPRC terms and conditions in order to take part in our events. Any unacceptable behaviour or other infringements will result in you being asked to leave without refund of any fees paid and possible refusal for you to attend future events.
